Mudfire ][ smoke test

In bold defiance of straight lines: Mudfire ][ gets lit.

The usual procedure is a dynamic one, with many bricks needing a good pasting in order to keep them from tipping over.  Last night's rain left the mortar pile quite stinky but less wet than previous batches.  The wheat straw from the horse stall cleanup is problematic when working in small areas. I prefer Mitch's ground hay.

That's a piece of galvanized, corrugated steel roofing material, most likely from the 1950s. It's harder than I expected to pound a flat zone across the corrugations.  It's just sitting on top of the walls with the bricks on top to keep it from blowing away when the wind picks up again later today or tomorrow.  The "peep hole" was pretty smoky so I plugged it up for now.

It's a beautiful day.
