Movin' On Up!

Chores first: this is Wally's primary playground for chasing the tennis ball.  This morning I took off the dandelion tops and the straggler cheatgrassers.  This was extra difficult because there was zero resistance to work against. To keep from flinging the scythe across the yard, I had to provide the stop action as well as the go action.  During this activity I drank a half-gallon of lemonish sugar water and took a very brief nap in the shade.

Not such a large area

Building out the firebox and raising the outer cylinder. Quite a ways to go on that there outer cylinder.  Catfood can is stoppering a useless peep hole.

Firebox with the great grate made of sash weights. The soup can is part of an air intake port that injects fresh air into the combustion path between the firebox and the burn tunnel. That's the idea, anyway; we'll see....
Speaking of see, you can see through the bell and out the exhaust port to the mud hole over there at the upper right side of the photo.

In the not-too-distant future: more taller up on the outer cylinder, filling in around the firebox and the opening of a cecum. Oh yeah, that'll be fun!
