The reactor core is as tall as it's likely to get. I could pick up four more firebrick for another course - but that sort of feels like cheating. Besides, the brick vendors close up shop in the middle of the afternoon, long before I'll make it into town.
Next actions are ...
- fill the core cavity with perlite and figure out a "cork" to keep the perlite from migrating. An o-ring of mud is the likely candidate.
- Begin the bell. The foundation for the bell is soaking now. It needed to be a bit more level, even for a Mudfire project.
I'd have photos but for the lack of AA batteries. There may well be good batteries but I can't find 'em. So no pictures today. In lieu of images, look at the previous post. The bell foundation area is where the ceramic silo tiles had been standing.
Exhaust is definitely going to follow the intake/firebox.
